As soon as a customer places an order you are notified, with the option for an email notification. After the customer pays they are sent an email confirmation.
You can update the status of the sales order at anytime, and this also lets the customer know what is going on via their customer portal.

Gift Vouchers
Selling gift vouchers through your site could not be made easier. Your customer will be emailed their automatically generated gift voucher code right after they have paid. We give you a list of all gift voucher sales showing which orders they were placed on, and when the gift voucher is used, we track which sales order it was applied to.
Cart Activity
You can even view the cart in action, seeing what customers are adding to their baskets, just as though you were stood in a bricks and mortar store.
